Here's what one of our students has to say about it: When I first walked into White Oak Martial Arts, I was 46 years old, licking my wounds from a devastating divorce, and reeling from the emotional aftermath of Hurricane Helene. I was a full-time caregiver, a survivor of trauma, and a woman who had spent decades learning to silence her rage just to survive. But rage doesn’t disappear—it buries itself in the body. I carried it in my hips, in my shoulders, in the clenching of my jaw and the weight in my chest.
